Snakes & Other Exciting New Things

June 19, 2014

Richard Bettinger, Me, Jobst Blachy looking at the new Rose Tarlow furniture line

Meeting at David Sutherland Showroom with representative, Jobst T. Blachy, Chief Executive Officer of Rose Tarlow Melrose House this week to see exciting new additions to the Rose Tarlow line

Rose Tarlow snake side table with guinea fowl feathers under glass top.

I found numerous pieces that can be incorporated into the Ranch Project.

One really fun piece, the  snake side table has actual guinea fowl feathers layered under a glass top.  Exquisite, and kind of appropriate for our ranch project where the clients keep finding lots of snakes!!

Another exciting new piece is the Magma branch chandelier from Rose Tarlow’s new partnership with Cox London.  It is an amazing cast bronze “branch” look and is a limited edition with only a few pieces left!  Hoping to see one in the Master bath of the ranch project!

Rose Tarlow has also upped their game on fabrics, adding several new color ways, fiber combinations, textures and patterns.  Never too old to learn something new. I learned what Cupro fiber is.. It was developed in WWII as a substitute for silk which was in short supply for parachutes.  It is made from the soft waste ends of cotton fibers.  Treated with copper oxide it creates a silky, hypoallergenic, antistatic fabric resistant to stretching out of shape at high temperatures.  Perfect for parachutes, and perfect for upholstery when combined with wool as in the New Rose Tarlow fabric of which Jobst is demonstrating the supple hand.
